Mark Mckay Q&A
How you got started in radio & what brought you to The Eagle:
Seriously, it was an accident! My best friend in college worked at the campus radio station at Arizona State University, and we started doing a show together, which led to a job at KMLE-FM/Phoenix in 1993. 6 years later, I was offered a job at the Eagle and I haven’t looked back since!
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be:
The shrimp fra diavlo at Il Giardino at the Oceanfront. Seriously, if you’ve never had it, you’re cheating yourself!
Favorite artist (does not have to be country):
Favorite song (does not have to be country):
I can’t pick just one SONG, but “The Joshua Tree” from U2 is my favorite ALBUM of all time.
Favorite part about living in Hampton Roads:
It’s a big small town—with the exception of the traffic & no major league sports, there’s nothing NOT to like!
If you could live in a book, TV show or movie what would it be?
“Friends,” if only to find out how young people with no money could afford apartments like THOSE in New York City! (also, because I crushed on Rachel HARDCORE, but who didn’t?)
How would you spend a billion dollars?
By eating $950M worth of items off of the dollar menu, followed by one heck of a shopping spree at the dollar store.
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future?
I was a history major in college, so I’d have to say the past, if only to make sure the textbooks I spent a fortune on got it right!
