Jake Owen certainly had an eventful weekend!  Saturday night he was arrested in his hometown of Vero Beach, Florida.  So what went down?  Jake was out to dinner with his parents and for some reason he was wearing a mask (which is illegal to wear in a public place)  He was arrested for it and went on Twitter to express his frustrations.  In a series of Tweets he said, "I was wearing an old man mask and the sheriff decided to rip me out of Steak And Shake and embarrass me in front of my family. Classic. You give a guy a gun and a badge and he thinks he’s John Wayne. Thanks Indain River County Sheriffs Office. Unreal."  Then a little after midnight he sent one last tweet, "I’m calling it a night. My mom cried. My Dad was embarrassed. I lived out another day. Happy Cinco De Mayo.” 

 

Well Jake was back on Twitter today to apologize for his rants saying, "Y'all I apologize. The IRC Sheriff was doing their job. I love hometown. I had too good of a time on Cinco de Mayo. I  want to publicly apologize again for bringing to light a situation that I overreacted to. I embarrassed myself and my family and most importantly the great people of my hometown. The Sheriffs were doing their jobs and I made an immature decision to announce it to the world. This is me talking not some puppet that is reciting what he "should" say. I take full responsibility. Again, what's done is done, but I am truly sorry."

His eventful weekend wasn't all bad though...in the midst of all this drama he got married!!!  This morning Jake and his now wife tied the knot on the beach at sunrise!

and in a happier Tweet he said,  "A best friend for life. I now have a wifey :) my face hurts from smiling. What a wonderful way to start the rest of my life."
