Army Vet who survived a quadruple amputation just wants one thing...a handshake from Blake Shelton

Jan 30, 2013 -- 7:16pm

What an awesome story! Brendan Marrocco is an army vet who survived a bomb attack in Iraq in 2009. He became the first U.S. serviceman to survive a quadruple amputation and six weeks ago, he was the first person to have a double-arm transplant.  Well he did an interview and mentioned that he's a big fan of Blake Shelton and it would be cool to have his first handshake with his new arms to be with Blake...

Blake heard about it on Twitter and responded, “Wow.. Speechless. I will make this happen!!” Then he sent a direct message saying. “Hey Brendan @BMarr86…. I can’t WAIT to shake the hand of an American Hero/Stud… You my brother.”

Needless to say Brendan was pretty excited and tweeted back, “@blakeshelton holy mother of god!! I can’t wait I’m a huge fan and really looking forward to it. Thank you”

He's in rehab right now following his transplant so hopefully he'll be ready for his handshake with Blake soon!
